His breakthrough came with his 2019 Netflix special “The Tennessee Kid,” followed by the widely acclaimed “The Greatest Average American” (2021) and “Hello World” (2023). Bargatze’s comedy is known for its relatable storytelling about everyday life, family situations, and his self-deprecating takes on his own perceived averageness. Unlike many contemporary comedians, Bargatze has built his career on family-friendly material while maintaining credibility among comedy purists. He’s developed a significant following through his podcast “Nateland” and regular touring. His 2023-2024 “Be Funny” tour has elevated him to arena status, marking his evolution from comedy clubs to major venues.
