Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart was born in Tampa, Florida in February 1955. Neidhart set a California high school record in shot put. He played for the Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders in the NFL but only in practices and preseason games. He trained with Stu Hart in Calgary and worked for Stampede Wrestling from 1987 to 1983. Jim married Stu’s daughter Ellie Hart and became the brother-in-law of wrestlers Bret Hart and Owen Hart. Neidhart earned his nickname The Anvil by winning an anvil toss at the Calgary Stampede. He joined the World Wrestling Federation where he wrestled from 1985 to 1992. He then wrestled in New Japan Pro Wrestling in 1992 before joining World Championship Wrestling in 1993. He later returned to the WWF. Neidhart held the WWF Tag Team Championships twice with Bret Hart as part of The Hart Foundation. He has also held titles with Championship Wrestling from Florida, Memphis Championship Wrestling, Mid-Eastern Wrestling Federation, Mid-South Wrestling, Professional Wrestling Federation, Pro Wrestling Ohio, Stampede Wrestling, and Universal Wrestling Alliance. Neidhart is in the Stampede Wrestling Hall of Fame, the Legends Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame, and the New England Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame. His daughter is WWE Diva Natalya. Unfortunately, Jim Neidhart died on August 13, 2018 at the age of 63.
