Launched by Draexlmaier’s parents, Fritz Sr. and Lisa in 1958 as a maker of wire harnesses in Vilsbiburg, Germany, today the company operates 58 factories in 22 countries on 4 continents. Fritz Sr., died in 1995 at the age of 80. Lisa died in 2018 at the age of 100. The privately-owned company counts BMW, Tesla, Audi, Mercedes Benz, Land Rover, Porsche, among many others, as loyal customers. The company manufactures a diverse range of vehicle components, including consoles, doors, and instrument panels. In 2012 the company generated a reported $3.5 billion in revenue. By 2019 the company generated just under $6 billion.
