In 2015 Hyman appeared on Saturday Night Live as a spectator after 14 years of not acting. In 1983 he won a CableACE Award for Actor in a Dramatic Presentation for Long Day’s Journey Into Night. Hyman is a member of The Actors Studio and won a Theatre World Award in 1956 and was nominated for a Tony Award in 1980. In 1986 he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for The Cosby Show. Earle Hyman died on November 17, 2017 at the age of 91.
