Deshaun Watson Donated His First Game Paycheck To A Very Worthy Cause

Now, he’s stepping up off the field, too. Watson donated the check from his first game to three women who work in the cafeteria at NRG Stadium, home of the Texans. The women were particularly affected by the damage of Hurricane Harvey. Watson, who has a base salary of $465,000, wrote a check for $27,353. “For what you all do for us every day and never complain, I really appreciate you all,” Watson told the women, handing them envelopes wrapped in ribbon. When Watson was a child, Warrick Dunn – no stranger to acts of kindness – built a house for Watson’s mother as part of Habitat for Humanity. Now that he’s in a position to help impact others, Watson is making the most of his opportunity. The Texans may have found a great quarterback. But they definitely found a great guy.
