He signed with DC Comics and was the first comic book writer to live in Britain while doing work in America. Moore worked on characters including Batman and Superman and developed the Swamp Thing. His books have provided the basis for movies such as From Hell in 2001, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in 2003, V for Vendetta in 2005, and Watchmen in 2009. Moore has also authored the books Voice of the Fire and Alan Moore’s Writing for Comics.
